Born in 1860 in Brittany, France, its name litterally means Butter Cake. The story behind its creation is a baker having a stand on a market who sudently ran out of products. In order to serve his customers, he decided to make something with what he had left : Bread Dough, butter and sugar. Over time and generations the recipe kept evolving to become this sweet and comforting cake.
